Born in New York City but raised Winnipeg, Manitoba, Tracey Schaeffer spent her childhood studying Ballet, Modern and Jazz dance before moving to Toronto to graduate with a Bachelors of Fine Arts for directing from the Theatre Program at York University. After her studies, Tracey participated in several local theatre productions in Toronto and at several Fringe Festivals throughout Canada as both a performer and a director. In the late 1990’s, Tracey spent time studying Taiko Drumming while teaching in Japan before returning to North America to begin working in Film and TV Productions on the West Coast. Ms Schaeffer was a member of the Women in Film Vancouver Board of Directors from 2006 to 2008. She has worked as a Segment Director, Casting Producer, and Story Producer for several documentary series. Tracey now resides in Port Moody where she is currently working on a series of children’s short stories while raising her young family. Ms Schaeffer was one of the recipients of City of Port Moody Arts Awards for 2022.
